Preparing for the 60th PitchMart at the Smokehouse November 5th, 2016 in Burbank, California
The summer sale was a huge success. Thanks to all of you who sent your scripts. Five of you have signed contracts – four with production companies and one with an agent. (I’ll say the summer was successful!)
We are now preparing for the 60th PitchMart! Due to the overwhelming response and the need for a larger space, we will be back at the Smokehouse. To secure your seat at the table, please send a check in the amount of $179 to Ken Rotcop or you can pay through PayPal. Contact us to get the mailing address or Paypal information.
Here’s all the information you out-of-town people will need:
PitchMart is an annual event available to Ken Rotcop's Screenwriter's Workshop students exclusively. You will be given the opportunity to pitch your scripts that have gone through the workshop to studio and production executives, as well as agents and managers on a one-on-one basis.
The next PitchMart will be held at the Smokehouse November 5th, 2016 in Burbank, California across the street from Warner Brother Studios.

Ken recommends that out-of-town writers stay in near Woodland Hills for practice your pitch sessions with Ken the evening before PitchMart. When calling or emailing reservations be sure to ask for weekend or special rates. Please make arrangements for your own transportation to the Practice Your Pitch Workshop and Pitchmart. Uber is an excellent choice for transportion in the Los Angeles area. Prices of hotel rooms may vary due to dates and seasons.

The airports in the area are either LAX or Burbank , depending on where you're coming from. Note that the Burbank airport (a.k.a. Bob Hope Airport ) is much closer to Hollywood than LAX (and a lot easier to get in and out of!).

The PitchMart is an informal event. There will be numerous producers and development executives in attendance with a few agents and/or managers mixed in. We won't have a final list of who's coming until a few days before PitchMart.
When you arrive, you'll get a writer's packet with a list of all the execs, their contact info, and what type of material they're looking for. You will then have the opportunity to meet each exec one-on-one and pitch your scripts. There is no time limit. There's a break for lunch and an opportunity to sit with an exec you may have hit it off with, then back to pitching.
After PitchMart is done, the producers/execs/agents/managers submit a list of the scripts that they want to receive. This information is shared with the writers within the following week – either during your regular scheduled workshop or meeting with Ken or via email.
If you are coming from out-of-town, you are invited to attend Ken’s regularly scheduled workshop two days before PitchMart. You have the opportunity to talke about your script, practice your pitch with Ken, and listen to pitches from other writers.
Private Friday Meeting One-on-One with Ken
If you would like an opportunity to sit down with Ken privately. Ken offers 1 hour lessons for $100. If you are planning on meeting with Ken, RSVP so he can schedule you in his calendar. Ken's calendar fills up quickly so don't delay.
Price for PitchMart is $179 paid in advance or $200 at the door.
Hire an Actor to Pitch
For any writer who cannot make the PitchMart but would still like their script or scripts pitched, Ken has a number of actors and actresses who will pitch your story for you. If you hire one of our actors or actresses, they will call you and practice your pitch with you before the PitchMart. You can also make arrangements with them to read your screenplay, if you like.
The charge to use an actor or actress to pitch is $179 for the PitchMart, plus $100 for the actor - $279 total. If you are interested, you will pay Ken the full amount (one payment), and he will then pay the actor or actress their part. The payment includes multiple scripts to be pitched, but all of the scripts must have been through Ken's workshop first and received his stamp of approval.
After the PitchMart, the actor or actress will follow up with a call to let you know how he or she did and what kind of feedback they received from the executives. The final results will be sent out via email sometime later that week after the PitchMart.
If you are coming to the PitchMart, please contact us. Also, please let us know if you will be attending the Thursday night workshop and also if you will be needing a ride.
See you soon!
